Young people from around the world were asked to contribute their voice in an innovative way by creating historical commemorations from the year 2050 on the themes of the Summit of the Future. You will find below the gallery of markers on many topics. They reflect the expectations, ambition and imagination of young people for their desired futures and how we might achieve them. We selected a number of the markers to create in augmented reality and place in three locations around the UN complex. We invite you to experience the possibility of AR as a novel way to reach the public and decision-makers, as well as the sense of possibility from all the youth messages.
Thank you to our youth engagement collaborator TEACH THE FUTURE and to the Building Hopeful Futures Festival for showcasing the project.

Any Historical Marker from the Future can be turned into augmented reality and installed in other places, at other events, and for other advocacy purposes. You may also wish to create your own campaign or explore ways of creating other forms of AR public art with youth. Please contact us if you are interested in doing any of these.
Tactical Public Art created the following short set of resources to help guide youth participants through futures thinking, understanding public art, and exploring the themes of the Summit of the Future.
